In 1957, the Alberta Jubilee Auditoria were built and given to Alberta as two top-notch places for live performances. Now, more than 60 years later, these auditoriums are still bringing joy to people. They are managed by the Alberta Ministries of Infrastructure and Arts, Culture, and Women’s Status. In Edmonton, the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium sits next to the University of Alberta.
In 2004, both auditoriums underwent major renovations to make them even better. Changes were made to make sure people are comfortable and performances sound great. This included upgrades to seating, air conditioning, and more. Even with the updates, the auditoriums kept their special historic feeling. They reopened in September 2005 to celebrate Alberta’s 100th anniversary.
